Upgrading to File Buddy 10
We appreciate our customers who continue to support new releases of File Buddy by upgrading. Copies of File Buddy 9 purchased on or after January 1, 2012 qualify for a free upgrade to File Buddy 10.

Individuals who purchased File Buddy 9 before that date qualify for a 50% discount when purchasing File Buddy 10.

Obtaining a Free Upgrade
If you qualify for a free upgrade, you will need to send an e-mail to us to . When you send your request, be sure to include sufficient information for us to locate a record of your File Buddy 9 purchase.

Please note that Kagi does not issue free upgrades, nor will File Buddy 10 accept your File Buddy 9 serial number. You will need to contact us directly to obtain your free upgrade.

Purchasing an Upgrade at 50% Off
To receive your File Buddy 9 owner’s preferred discount (please read all of the following before attempting to purchase your upgrade):
  1. Go to our File Buddy 10 order page at Kagi.
  2. Enter the number of copies you wish to upgrade and click the ‘Add to cart’ button, which will add File Buddy to your cart and take you to your shopping cart.
  3. A little more than halfway down the cart page is a field labeled ‘Coupon/Promotional Code.’ To get the upgrade discount enter one of the following as your promotional code:
    Your File Buddy 9 serial number.
    If you purchased File Buddy 9 through Kagi you can use the Kagi transaction ID provided in the e-mail Kagi sent you when you made your purchase.
  4. Fill in the rest of your information and click the ‘Checkout’ button at the bottom of the page. If the serial number/transaction ID was accepted for the discount you will be taken to the checkout page. If the cart page refreshes when you click the ‘Checkout’ button and now says the promotional code is not valid:
    You purchased File Buddy 9 on or after January 1, 2012, so you qualify for a free upgrade.
    Due to a lost database on a server the list of qualifying serial numbers only goes back to the beginning of 2008. If you purchased File Buddy prior to that, you should use your Kagi transaction ID instead.
    The transaction ID or serial number was not entered correctly. It's best to copy it from your records and paste it into the field to ensure it’s entered correctly.
  5. Once on the checkout page, confirm that the discount has been applied to your purchase and if it has, complete the checkout process.

If you don’t have and can’t find either your File Buddy 9 serial number or your Kagi transaction ID, contact Kagi and ask them for your transaction ID. Go to Kagi.com. At the top of their main page is a link that says ‘Shoppers: Lookup an order’. If you know the e-mail address and credit card number used to purchase File Buddy 9 you can use this link to look up your order. If not, you can use the ‘Contact’ link below it to ask a Kagi representative to look up your order for you.
